Strip back and surrender

When I Want to Strip Everything Back and Surrender Under the Stars

There are moments when I feel like I can’t breathe. It’s as if the space around me begins to shrink — not suddenly, but slowly, almost imperceptibly — until I realize the air feels heavy and I’m being held too tightly by everything. The walls don’t just close in… they lean in, pressing against me, against my spirit, as if demanding something I can no longer give.

And all I want is to shed it all — every expectation, every layer — and lay myself bare beneath the stars.

Not to escape — but to return.

Return to something real.

Something sacred.

Something free.

It’s hard to explain this feeling, but it keeps rising up in me. A raw ache for simplicity, for truth, for God. It feels like my soul is crying out — not in despair, but in longing. A holy hunger to strip it all back. Physically. Spiritually. Emotionally. As if every part of me is whispering, “Enough. Let it all fall away.”

And it’s not the first time I’ve felt this way.

There have been seasons before where everything in me longed to let go — to simplify, to return to the quiet truth beneath the surface. These moments don’t come often, but when they do, they are unmistakable.

And every now and then, this call to strip it all back resurfaces like a wave — familiar, fierce, and somehow sacred.

am waking up.

am in another awakening.

This isn’t new. It’s a deepening.

It’s a remembering.

It’s a returning.

There’s a name for this, maybe. Spiritual overload. Awakening. A holy unraveling. Whatever you call it, I know I can’t live buried under the weight of what no longer fits. The clutter, the roles, the expectations — they don’t hold me anymore. They stifle. They suffocate. My soul knows that something more pure, more true, more aligned exists. And it won’t stop crying out until I answer the call.

Even my body is joining in. My chest tightens. I catch my breath for no reason. I feel claustrophobic in spaces that once felt safe. But I’m learning this isn’t weakness — it’s wisdom. It’s my nervous system saying, “It’s too much. Lay it down.”

My body is asking for stillness. For softness. For air.

And deeper still — beneath the ache, the overwhelm, the weariness — is something even more tender. A longing not to fix or escape, but to surrender.

I keep seeing myself under the stars. Naked. Not in shame, but in sacred vulnerability. No masks, no makeup, no titles, no to-do lists. Just soul. Just breath. Just God.

I want to be seen by the Divine, just as I am.

Held in the vastness. Covered in starlight.

Small, but never alone. Empty, but finally whole.

And maybe that’s what this is.

Not a breakdown — but a breakthrough.

Not an end — but a return.

A return to simplicity. To stillness. To truth.

Maybe this is where the healing begins.

And maybe I don’t need to understand it.

Maybe I just need to surrender to it.

.

so much love

Laila xoxo
